This website portal is for South Africans in Perth and is also for Perthonians and for the transitionals who are still deciding between being Saffas or being Perthonians! Welcome to all, to the best city in the world! Appreciate what you got here and enjoy all this city has to offer with its many clean beaches and parks and so much fun stuff to do for very young to very old.

Hey, there is a strong heritage to hold onto, you don't have to lose that - or to cut out biltong, boeries, pap, potjiekos, koeksisters, blatjang, maltabella, bella se sister, ouma biskuit, lion lager, etc, ens. You can get it all here. There are many Saffa shops and restaurants in Perth (listed under the 'Business' pages) and many true-blue ozzies love the food. Spur has opened in Mandurah. Nandos is all over Perth.

You know the integration is complete if you support the Western Force over the Sharks. Or if you pick to watch an AFL footy game on the same day a Super 15 team is playing in Perth (lo and behold!). Don't smirk now, your kids may insist on it, they settle in and change a lot quicker than some of the old die-hard rugby fanatics.

You can login or register yourself here or on the last button of the menu at left. This will take you to our interactive sister site, click the back button or bookmark this site to come back here. This is mainly an information site now.

Newbies to Perth will find that the 'Handy Information' page is a worthwhile read. There are links to schools, hospital emergency acitivity, public transport, business licensing, real estate, etc. Even traffic updates in real time on Twitter.
We are busy updating this to a new site and hopefully have it done by January 2012. This site will keep going and run concurrently with the new site till the end 2012.

Census is on and we should know by June 2012 how many saffas (japies, expats, etc) have made Perth their new home.

Here is some info on the 2006 census re South Africans in W.A. and QLD. Be assured that numbers would have changed dramatically.

I am looking for a South African who can dress as a warrior to meet and greet people at a large expo (AIME) being held in Melbourne in February (21st and 22nd). The person has to be from South Africa.
If you could direct any interested people to me via email that would be terrific.
Kind Regards

Can anyone help with assistance in securing a tour of set performances to take place in Australia’s main cities including Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne? This is from July 2012 till December 2012 for approximately about an week and half, or for as many performances as we can organize between ourselves. The time span for performances are open for discussion between all relevant parties.

We’ve received overwhelming response from all corners of the globe, especially where South Africans reside, to bring the ROOIWARM Production to their doorsteps. South Africans are starved for productions/products from their home country and as you will see from the presentation below, this production will be perfect in reminding them of their roots.

Ek is 'n bedryfsingenieur en my vrou 'n IT projekbestuurder.

I am unsure if I am using the correct avenue but hope you may be able to assist me in the right direction if not!
We have a family run Butcher Shop and Australian Standards Abattoir business of 40 years for sale in Hyden Western Australia (wheatbelt) and have been advised to make contact with South African recruitment to source a prospective buyer trying to get to Australia from South Africa wanting to buy an established business.
We have a small South African support network already (12 families) in our rural community and believe this business opportunity is an exciting beginning for a new South African family.
I would appreciate any assistance you may be able to provide.

Kind regards

My name is Romy and I am doing a PhD at the University of Adelaide. My topic is migration between South Africa and Australia.

In particular, I'm looking at migrants' motivations, settlement experiences, linkages with South Africa, and thoughts on citizenship and identity.
As a migrant myself, I long to understand more about this process.

Part of the data collection for this research involves an online survey of South African migrants in Australia at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SATOAUSSURVEY

I'll be in Perth November 29 - December 1 to conduct interviews with key stakeholders in the migration process and the South African community. Can you think of others in the SA community in Perth I should talk to?

Ailsa Kaminski

Hi there,
I am a television producer looking to produce a television programme about South Africans (who are committed Christians) living in Perth. Essentially the programme will explore life in Perth, and the testimonies of South African Christians living there.

I'm hoping that you may be able to put me in contact with potential candidates who I could chat to further.

SAMVOA (South African Military Veterans Organisation of Australasia) is a proudly ex-South African remembrance oraganisation, with branches in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.

In Perth we meet at the RSL Club in Belmont on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, where we also have display cabinets of interesting South African memorabelia.
Our website at www.samvoa.org might also be of interest. We take part into two official parades each year, namely the Anzac Day parade and the Remembrance Day.
We have 120 members in Perth and are open to all those that did National Service or served in the SA Police and Correctional Services and would welcome any new members that would like to be part of the organisation.

Don't like this look and colours?

There is a different look with a bushveld background if you want to feel nostalgic. Pick BUSHVELD on the template chooser at the bottom of this page and the whole look of the site will change. You can always come back to this EASY_READ look if you get disappointed with no big five animals appearing in the bushveld scene.
There is also GREEN which is a bit fancy and was the original template for this site.

Come back soon, we, that is all of us (I hope), will keep updating the site and keep it interesting.
